Ok ya'll...it's RIDICULOUSLY hot out here in Oklahoma! Heat index of 102 today...I know, Phoenix is hotter...but yikes, that's hot for us Okies! Predicting 105 by the weekend! Sooo, I went through some of my drink recipes and found this one. Wish I could remember where I got it from so I could give them some propers....but, oh well. (Maybe it was EatBetter America??) We made this with our lunch yesterday and it was oh so refreshing :) Wish I would've taken pictures :( Hope you give it a try!
Pineapple-Limeade
1 cup sugar
1 cup lime juice, chilled
6 cups pineapple juice, chilled
2 liters sparkling water, chilled
lime slices for garnish
Mix sugar and juices in a large glass or plastic pitcher. Pour half of that mixture into another pitcher. Just before serving, add the sparkling water and serve over ice. Garnish with lime slices if desired.

Yum! Except I'd have to change the pineapple to something else. My girls despise it. Why? I have no freakin' idea. It's so yummy. But there you have it.
You know what I am craving right now? A cherry limeade from Sonic. Hmmm...might have to make a little stop on my way home from picking Katie up at the birthday party. And naturally, happy hour is over. Why didn't I read this right before I dropped her off?!
That sounds really good, i will have to make it now!
Thanks for the suggestion :)
You could maybe even add vodka to that and it would make a nice cocktail. Not that i would...!
ha-ha :D
L,

Kat---bummer-no pineapple huh? Maybe orange juice?? It reminds me of that pineapple sherbert punch...yum! We just stopped by Sonic ourselves for a little pick me- up! What do my boys want? Water. How sad are they? I'm the one getting a root beer blended float and begging them to get shakes! (We even made it for Happy Hour!)
Amanda--Funny you should suggest that...I was thinking THE SAME thing while making it :) Too funny! I am not one to drink that often...but I do like a good vodka collins (Brian makes THE best!) and I think it would taste very similar! Maybe after the kids are tucked in :) (Hope you are getting your little sweetie all packed---actually, as I'm typing, you are probably, hopefully, sleeping before your early wake up call! Have fun!)
We're pushing the hundreds here too---and this sounds soooo good ! I'd love to pop it in the freezer until it was all slushy and just lounge about drinking it ;)!
Jennifer P---GOOOOD idea! We might do that tomorrow! (Kids are off at Super Summer today while I do a little runnin' around!)
Ohhhhhhhhh, Oklahoma and Texas HAVE to be in the same realm of HOTNESS-- we don't even go outside anymore unless we have to. THIS SONDS SO GOOD!
Hey Staci!--
My friend Debbie just did a post to try and get someone from all 50 posts to comment (she's treating like a beauty pagent :)!). Anyhow, she doesn't have an Oklahoma yet, so I told her I'd send you her way! www.thisisthelife-dmn.blogspot.com
Emily---yep, I think you are right! It's ridiculous! Connor had golf lessons every day this week starting at 9:15 and by 10:15 it was scorchin hot! They are only outside if they are in the pool...and even then, that's mid-morning or after 6:00 in the evening because it's too hot for this momma! I'm ready for FALL!!!!
Jennifer P.--I'll stop by right now! Do I get to win a crown?!!! I'm ALLLLL about a crown :)
I know what ya mean about the heat!
The recipe sounds great!
