Cash for Gold Anyone??

I am CRACKING up...Today while I was throwing some dinner together, the boys were watching some movie on Disney. Here's what I hear:
Connor: "Mommy, do you have any extra gold laying around...like jewelry?"
Me: "Um, no, whhhyyy?"
Connor: "Oh there's this man that will give us cash for gold...some lady made $100 extra dollars!"

At this point, I almost burned my good hand because I was laughing so hard! So, to all my bloggin buddies...beware of the man that is telling your children to send in your jewelry for a little extra cash :)

OMG! I had the same thing happen to me. I just wasn't smart enough to blog about it. I was sitting here at the computer and Madalyn comes up to me and wants to know if we have any broken pipes. Is the dishwasher fixed? Anything broken around the house? And I keep telling her things are good. We got the dishwasher fixed. Why is she asking all this. Seems she wrote down the 1-800 # for Mighty Putty. Just in case I might need it.

We've heard it too! They asked me if I had any gold teeth! (that's one of the things they list is ok to trade---eeeeew!).

I also had to physically stop one of them from ordering Mighty Putty once! Kids and infomercials seem made for eachother! :)

Kat and Jennifer P. ---How funny :) Kat, that's funny that she even wrote the number down just in case :) Jennifer--you'd be surprised at what people think they can get for the "gold teeth"!!! Infomercial people SURE DO know who to market to! We haven't seen the Mighty Putty one yet...My Connor will be all about though I'm sure :)

THat could have been Rick the other night, trying to use some of my old jewelry (mind you it was a ring of grandmother's that I received when she passed....rrgghhh.) to melt down to make gold onlays the other night...be better prepared man!

I'm still beating myself up for not thinking to blog about it. And I have that number written down. In crayon. Just in case. Oh, and the other day I was trying to brush her hair...and she kept moving her head...to see the TV better. Because there was some commercial on for "green bags." So you can keep your fruit fresher. She thought we might need to get some of that, too.

Or the time she told me about some Barbie van she wanted. And it has this. And that. And it does this. "Barbie not included."

Or she'll run around the house repeating things like "many will enter. Only one will win."

I am thinking I have an entire entry right there. But here it is posted in your comment section instead.

And I think we need to work on TV limits...

Lezel---yep...gotta watch out for those dental men of our's :)
Lisa--ohhh, I'm sure you'll be hearing about it very soon :)
Kat--I am CRACKING up at you! You should still post about it...it would be much better written than my measly post!!!! We saw the green bag commercial to...and to be quite honest, actually THOUGHT about buying them :) Too funny! I'm with you on my kids watching way to much tv...I'm one of those people that NEED to hear something in the background...if it's too quiet, I'm scared :) I'll be looking forward to your post!

THAT IS so stinking funny! I have seen that commercial, but my boys were not as keen to ask for any extra gold laying around. WHO HAS EXTRA GOLD LAYING AROUND... that's what I would like to know!
