Okay, so, I've decided that I'm not good at updating my own blog but LOVVVVE just looking--lurking at others! (If I was really good on the computer I'd know how to put a line through lurk, but I'm a computer dummy!) There are soo many creative and inspiring people out there! Again, if I was really good, I could link you to these incredible blog sites, but I don't know how to do that either!) Anyway, this is a little how my afternoon has gone and it's only 12:47 at the time of this post.
11:25- Pick up Connor from Kindergarten
11:45-Fixin' up some lunch (same-O, same-O everyday of this life with a 2 and 5 yr old)
12:00 -They have whoofed down their food and on to the festivities--which I'm sure will involve getting into some kind of trouble!
12:15- Sure 'nough, Connor has been running around trying to swat Jake with a diaper (it's a clean one thankfully--one I meant to put on him, oh, maybe an hour ago before picking up Connor from K! Ought to be NICE and wet now!)
OKAY, so we all know--or maybe we don't- what this means, right? There are little micro-sticky, gel beads from the diaper ALLL over my house! Uggghhh! (I am saying a prayer once again that it was a CLEAN diaper!) So, I give the big "UGGGHHH" yell loud enough they know I've discovered the first festivity of which they are in trouble for! I hear, "RUN, Jake, I think we are in trouuuubble." (I did make him come down and pick up the big fluffy pieces) So now, I've added to my list of things to do today...vacuum! Which needed to be done really. It's just, we are going on a little trip to Great Wolf Lodge tomorrow and I am trying to get laundry done, pack, get in a work out, and make dinner, just to name a few! But I will gladly choose vacuuming over working out, so here I go off to shovel the snow beads! My saving grace is that I have a sitter coming tonight (Brian has a meeting) because I have BUNCO! YEAH! Gotta run! Hope everyone has a great rest of the day!
What's funny is...as I saw and heard this scene playing out, I thought to myself, "well, at least I have something to blog about!" Like anyone reads my blog?? (And again, if I were a Good Blogger, I would've taken pictures and posted them!)

Hocopontas??
So, last night at the dinner table it went a little something like this:
I let the boys use some Disney glasses to drink milk from and of course you know two boys are going to compete about something!?
Jake: "I be Mickey Mouse!"
Connor: "No, I'm Mickey Mouse!"
The battle continues for oh, what seemed too long! Finally Connor says, "Jake, your Hocopontas!"
Jake: "No, I'm Mickey!"
Mommy: "Who is Hocopontas?"
Connor: "You know, the girl who talks to the wind and animals!"
Mommy: "Oh, right!" "I think you mean Pocohontas!"
Connor: "yea, whatever"
The battle continued on and I just kept eating (of course, Brian was at a meeting ;( ) it was just the easiest thing to do!

ASH WEDNESDAY
So, again, to remind anyone who's reading...going to use this as a journal, so, enjoy if you can, but is more for me more than anything! I find if I write things down (I am a HUGE list person) I tend to do it. I like seeing the things crossed and gives me great satisfaction!
So, my topic today to think about is Ash Wednesday. Since we are Catholic, I'm trying to find some meaningful things to do so the boys will start to understand the importance of this time of year...as well as all through the year, but especially this time of year. Anyway, here are some things on the list!
Some of Staci's Things She's Going to Give Up or Add During Lent:
-I've not been the best at reading The Bible on a daily basis in a while, so I am going to read a chapter in Proverbs every day.
-Stay focused on whatever my task is at hand and finish it!!!
-Try not to raise my voice (at Child #1 mostly ; ) as much!
-Be more patient (ditto with the child #)
-Read with Connor from Miss Laura's plan every day!
-Attend Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent
-No radio on for me in the car...need to pray or think and be grateful for things instead of listening to The Sports Animal!
For the Family:
-Pray our little prayer every morning before we go to school
-Encourage Connor on a daily basis to think of something (like not eating cookies today, etc..) he can give up or something special he could do each day for a family member of his choice.
-Follow Our Lenten Journey Path (a calendar of sorts that leads up to Easter Sunday)
-Make crown of thorns (dough and toothpicks) and remind him he gets to take a thorn out for every good deed I find him doing, ex...having a nice voice, sharing, etc...
Gosh, sounds like a lot...these next 40 days I'm really focusing on just being better and positive things.
I hope you all have a Blessed Ash Wednesday!
